Things I Never Thought I’d Say

I change my mind quite a bit, you see. This way I can remember what I used to think.

Lunar eclipse February 20, 2008

I spent last night lying in bed with my son explaining what a lunar eclipse is (the earth’s shadow is cast over the moon, often with a red tinge) versus what a solar eclipse is (the moon travels between the sun and the earth, blocking out our view of the sun).  He is very visual, as most men are, so I had to use props.  “My head is the sun, my fist is the earth, now you show me where the moon will be during the lunar eclipse Wednesday night.”

Check it out tomorrow night!

I was bested by a 5-year-old.

HOWEVER!!!!! I kicked that 4-year-old’s potty trained butt!

Damn those bumpers!  (shakes weak fist in air)

We’re going bowling today!!! Jr. High church group bowling. Enthusiasm is somewhat forced on my part.

See, I once bowled an 8. That’s right, an 8. For the whole game. That’s not even a good score for one frame, and that’s all I managed in whole game! The very next game I almost doubled my score by bowling a 13. That’s a huge improvement!

Maybe I should give bowling lessons: “How to double your score in just one game!”

Mother/son bowling with bumpers is the only bowling I’ve done in the past… oh, I don’t know… 20 years. Let’s see how I do today.
